Access to Basic Water and Sanitation Services
The URBAYITI: Access to Basic Water and Sanitation Services programme is ongoing in Haiti, which has 4 million euros in funding, 1 million euros of which corresponds to a donation from Spain, within the framework of the Water Fund’s programme, and 3 million euros correspond to funds delegated by the EU.
This action aims to improve access to basic services in the cities of Puerto Príncipe, Jérémie and Les Cayes. 7,350 people are expected to benefit from new access to drinking water and approximately 2,000 from new access to sanitation. Furthermore, the intervention includes planning and rehabilitation works and the construction of sanitary blocks in collective facilities, such as schools, markets, health centres and other public facilities.
